HalalInspector
The evolution of Amna · Mobile-first ecosystemFrom Amna to a mobile-first ecosystem.
The evolution of Amna into a mobile-first ecosystem for food discovery, evidence, places, businesses and community participation.
Public availability will be announced here.
Investigate a food or ingredient
Search the bundled local catalog for records, aliases, notes and original classifications. Keep source information visible rather than reducing a complex ingredient assessment to an unsupported yes-or-no answer.
Look up a barcode or read a label
Use camera scanning, manual barcode lookup and public product search using Open Food Facts. Selected-photo text recognition assists with ingredient labels; extracted text can be reviewed and edited.
Explore places and keep useful records
MapKit-based place search, saved places, directions and viewing history support discovery. Online catalog and map results depend on the services involved; locally stored records have a different offline scope.
Evidence is not certification
Public product information, a barcode result, a receipt image or a local catalog classification does not establish current halal certification. Unknown and unverified information must remain distinguishable from assessed evidence.
A broader ecosystem under development
HalalInspector is the new name for the Amna mobile app and a substantial mobile-first development. Alongside food and place discovery, accounts, reviews, business participation and governance are under development. The related website is also being overhauled and upgraded.
The app and the related website
HalalInspector’s evolution from Amna is connected to the broader website renewal. The mobile ecosystem and the website have their own development and release stages.
