Terms of Use
Product-specific information from the documents bundled with this app.
Bundled document version: 2026-09-12. Publisher: WebbieFourth.
This document concerns the Portraint Protection app. References to offline documents and policy screens describe screens inside the app, not this website. Other Portraint products have separate policies.
Using this product
These terms apply to your use of this product. They do not introduce a VPN subscription, replace third-party licenses or limit mandatory consumer rights. Use the product only as permitted by applicable laws and the agreements for your selected network services. Contact WebbieFourth at webbiefourth@gmail.com with questions.
Purpose and permission
Use the app only on devices, networks and VPN services you are authorized to use, and comply with applicable laws and service agreements. You choose whether to enable local domain protection or establish a remote VPN/Tor connection. System permission is required for network extensions. A local interface may replace or conflict with another VPN.
Coverage and limitations
Coverage varies by app. Domain rules target listed advertising, tracking, telemetry and harmful domains; the current source also includes phishing, malware, scam and cryptomining entries. Rules can become outdated or contain false positives. Protection cannot guarantee that every ad, tracker or threat is blocked. It is not antivirus software, a public-Wi-Fi safety guarantee or a substitute for device updates, secure websites and appropriate security practices.
Clear Net is not an encrypted VPN
Clear Guard uses a local DNS-only interface. It does not add VPN encryption or hide your public IP. Encrypted/app-specific DNS, direct-IP access, cached results and existing connections can bypass DNS blocking. The current implementation covers standard UDP DNS, not TCP DNS forwarding to its virtual resolver. During sleep, network changes or temporary DNS failures, the provider retains filtering and retries the network's DNS resolver. Allowed sites may fail to resolve during recovery; no public fallback is selected. Explicit stops, other VPN connections or system termination can still end protection. Check the displayed status.
Site compatibility
Blocking requests may remove ads, leave blank spaces or prevent legitimate features from working. You may turn protection off. The app does not promise that third-party content remains identical when requests are blocked, or that a third-party website will permit access with blocking enabled.
Third-party software
Open-source components and rule datasets retain their own license terms. Read Third-Party Licenses for bundled notices and source information. These use statements do not replace those licenses or restrict rights they grant. Including a notice alone does not establish that every source-distribution or other license obligation has been satisfied.
Reliability and backups
Back up important configurations and saved information. Do not rely on this app as your sole protection for critical activity. Features depend on device permissions, network availability, operating-system behavior and the services you select. Updates may change features or compatibility. Check the displayed connection and protection status.
